THE SOKUDO - M.H.C. 014
This build was one of the most challenging of the collection. I wanted it to be something extremely pure and unique, unlike anything seen before… which as we all know is a very challenging task in a highly saturated market. So we decided to venture into the wild world of motorcycles.
I have designed a few bikes in the past, including the cycles in The Batman and one for Lost Boy, but I wanted to try something a bit different with this one. The more I get into crafting elements in CGI, the further I wanted to push my abilities and shape/form language. Not only am I interested in how things look, but also how they could potentially function. These are all just concepts but it’s so fun to think about how these things could possibly come together and actually be a workable prototype at some point.

To further elaborate on the details and concept of this build, I decided to make a cut through to show how things could perhaps work in theory. The great joy of building these concepts is solving the design challenges with possible forward thinking solutions. One of the thoughts I had when building out the frame was how the swing arm could have an internal tension system that would adjust to the rider, conditions, and speed. This wasn’t just about a motorcycle concept for me, it was a further exploration into understanding shape, form, and design.

Since this is all a concept, I like to see how far I can push things and try odd colors and elements when working digitally. For some reason, I felt like this bike needed more pastel like colors so I just went for it. I often render a side shot first when building looks and liveries. From there, I will build graphics or layouts in photoshop or illustrator and then rapidly test the concepts until something sticks. This interesting concept made the bike feel more like a toy, but that made me smile and also oddly more badass.
