THE XENOTYPE - M.H.C. 013
I’ve honestly never been interested in designing a motorbike until Ash changed my perceptions on them. He helped introduce me to this new world and thought it would be fun if we each built a MHC motorbike. This is my first attempt at taking on this huge challenge and I’m so gratefully for Andreas Ezelius’ model to help get me started with a solid base for my crazy bike.

On this build, I wanted to try a different approach and just allow my subconscious and gut decisions to lead the way. I wanted to take shape in the most raw and organic way possible with only one simple rule/constraint: it must fit the Ducatti 916 chassis/engine.

To further elaborate on the details and thinking behind the concept of this build, I decided to make retractable handle bars so that it could have a unique front view when the engine was off.
It was also important to me when building out the frame that the swing handle bar have an internal tension system that could adjust to rider/condition/speed… a totally extreme exploration in understanding shape/form/design.

When I started the early sketches, I wanted to emulate a similar vibe to the legendary Ford 90, something odd and unconventional, not necessarily beautiful or organic… Just a simple design exercise of thinking outside my usual boundaries and instead letting my gut choices lead the way.

"A retractable handle bar that only extends when the engine is on."
